Alolan Vulpix Vstar vs Brambleghast question

Hello, I had a dispute between vulpix vstar and Brambleghast.

Does Vulpix vstar attack snow mirage chop through Brambleghast ability Resilient soul?

    Brambleghast gave itself extra HP with its ability, that is not an effect that Alolan Vulpix can hit through.

    It doesn't affect brambleghast due to snow mirage stopping any effects on the pokemon, while brambleghast's ability only affects itself…wait…ok simple answer: no

    Snow Mirage doesn't ignore Bramblechast's ability, however, it will prevent Brambleghast from damaging it the next turn.

    @Eminginjo The simple answer is that HP isn't damage.
