Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Expeditions Episode 2 + 3
(I'm posting the secound episode early because the first one was kind of short)
In this series Dawn is 12 and ______ is 15
Episode 2 The first catch, Buneary!
Dawn is traveling along the road to jubilife city when she comes across one of her neighbours from home, Barry
Dawn: Barry? What are you doing out here? Are you a trainer too?
Barry: Yeah I just became one yesterday, this is my partner Turtwig!
Dawn: Turtwig?! That seems like a slower Pokemon for you.
Barry: It is but Professor Rowan told me that "An agile Pokemon is most fitting for an impatient trainer"
Dawn: That's cool. Want to battle?
Barry: uh I was actually going to go catch a Pokemon
Dawn: How about a catching contest! First one to catch a Pokemon wins!
Barry: Wow you are so competitive, just kidding because I'M GONNA BEAT YOU!
Dawn and Barry race to find a Pokemon
Dawn encounters a Shinx Starly and even a Bidoof but fails each one until a wild Buneary appears
Dawn: That's a Buneary, a Pokemon that is best suited for contests……… it looks kind of cute though……. maybe I should catch it?
Dawn throws a pokeball at the Buneary which breaks out
Dawn: Go Chimchar!
Chimchar uses Ember and knocks out Buneary in one hit, Buneary is very impressed
Dawn: ………… If Buneary is that weak then I don't need it, it won't be able to help me in battling at all
Dawn walks away without catching Buneary
Barry: Dawn! DAWN! I CAUGHT A PONYTA! HA! I BEAT YOU! Did you catch anything?
Dawn: I found a Buneary but it was really weak so I left it
Barry: You didn't catch it?! Even if a Pokemon is weak a good trainer would train it to be stronger, not give up on it.
Dawn: You're right I should go find it
Dawn runs over to the spot where Buneary was and throws a Pokeball, she is successful
Dawn sends out her Buneary
Dawn: I'm really sorry, I should've caught you
Buneary ignores Dawn and returns to it's Pokeball
End of Episode
Episode 3 The Pokemon Watcher
Dawn decides to continue on her journey to be a Pokemon master and arrives in Jubilife city where a Pokemon contest is being held
Dawn's Buneary exits it's Pokeball, wanting to go but Dawn tells Buneary that she doesn't want to be a coordinator and would rather be a Pokemon Master, Buneary is disappointed
Dawn continues on to Oreburgh city, the location of the first gym and sees a boy drawing in a sketchbook, she decides to ask him where the gym is
Dawn: Hey uh mister? Where's the gym
______: Oh It's right there, I heard that the gym leader uses Rock types, and he only allows trainers with at least 3 Pokemon to challenge him
Dawn: Wow! Really?! I need to catch another Pokemon then!
______: Hey can I come with you? I really love sketching Pokemon!
Dawn: Uh sure! I'm Dawn, what's your name?
______: I'm Tracey, I'm a Pokemon Watcher!
The duo continue onwards and head to a nearby patch of grass where Dawn finds a Budew
Dawn: Go Buneary!
Buneary seems to not be interested
Buneary use dizzy punch!
Buneary attacks Dawn instead of Budew, Budew runs away
Tracey: Hey Dawn why is your Buneary so disobedient?
Dawn: Buneary lost against my Chimchar with one hit so I was mean and called it weak, I feel really bad
Tracey: You know some Pokemon aren't meant for battling, watching your Buneary makes me think that it's better suited for contests, you could try those?
Dawn: No, I'm not interested
Tracey: Just do one for Buneary, maybe it'll warm up to you? There's even one going on right now!
Dawn: Fine I'll try it, but just this once, ok?
Buneary gets excited
