It sounds like you want those cards "just in case." Don't do that. You don't need them. You're just making your deck worse.2 -

can you not put any grass energy into play with Gardenia's vigor if you have any in hand?
with the "up to" ruling you normally must do anywhere from 1 to x, whereas with the "any amount" you may do anything between 0 to x. So you would assume you must put a grass energ…1 -

There is a previous discussion on this exact topic. Dragapult says it places damage counters. manaphy prevents damage done. Complicated wording.2 -
