I finished rewatching first two Seasons of Code Lyoko tonight. It's kind of crazy how if you know the backstory of the AI and its purpose that it wasn't as dumb as you thought it was. Every move it made was to an end: to grow stronger in order to complete its objective. So all of Season 1 was just that: to grow stronger. Season 2, the protagonists get wind of it and stop using the means in which it uses to get stronger so it proceeds to change course to a secondary goal in breaking free from its prison. In doing so, it put the Protagonists, at times, in positions where they had no choice but to use it(hence making it stronger). Ultimately it succeeds on breaking free(S2 finale) where it kills one of the protagonists to get out. That is, if it weren't for her own Father saving her life. Season 3 is all about proceeding with its primary goal while sabotaging or preventing the Protagonists from interfering with its plan. Ultimately succeeds and takes a new member hostage(as its own puppet). Season 4 the Protagonists rebuild from the Season 3 aftermath and the AI does what it can to prevent them from interfering, getting to the point where death was a constant possibility. Ultimately the Protagonists solution was to use AI to beat AI and the person responsible for it all perishing. Shall be interesting to see what they do for Season 5.

I put it in a spoiler but if you really must know it's basically the plot of Code Lyoko. It all centers around a Scientist who worked for the Government. The Government begins doing something that he disagrees with on Ethical grounds known as Project Carthage. That or he simply goes Rogue(they never really delve too much on either in the 4 Seasons so maybe Season 5 will shed light on this). Anyways, the name of the Scientist is Waldo Schaeffer and he's married to Anthea Schaeffer and has a daughter named Aelita. Waldo starts to work on destroying Project Carthage from within but the Government finds out about it and takes Anthea away(as a hostage or to get her to work for them because she has a brain too). Waldo takes Aelita and goes into hiding and takes up the name of Franz Hopper while working at a school named Kadic Academy. In his spare time, he ultimately builds a Super Computer down in an abandoned Factory basement. On the Supercomputer, he begins creating an AI known as Xana and hosts it on a virtual world known as Lyoko. Xana's sole purpose is to destroy Project Carthage. He uses a computer program known as Return to the Past to literally reset time. He does this for like 2+ years and after doing so he takes himself and Aelita and virtualizes both into the virtual world to hide from the Government. From there he would direct Xana to annihilate Carthage but Xana becomes self-aware and too powerful to control. He tells Aelita to hide in a Tower and shuts off the Super Computer to contain Xana. In doing so he basically sentences himself and his own daughter to a virtual prison. Fast forward 10 years and Jeremy starts up the Super Computer where he meets a certain girl in the incarnation of her favorite Doll, an Elf named Mr.Puck that was gifted to her by her parents. She has no idea who she is or what she's doing there. The amnesia being the result of the computer being offline for so long or the fact that Xana somehow obtained her Earth memories, binding her to him such that if the Computer were shut down, she dies(what happens to her at end of Season 1). During Season 2, Xana tries to steal her digital data or the keys to Lyoko in order to escape. He succeeds and kills her in the process. Her Father ultimately restores her and saves her life. Season 3, Xana basically destroys Lyoko and takes their new member in William hostage, turning him into a puppet warrior. Season 4, the Protagonists start going into cyberspace/Internet to find Supercomputers that Xana has infiltrated and began destroying them one by one but they come to realize that there's far too many to deal with. So Jeremy devises his own AI program that ultimately destroys Xana but at the cost of Franz Hopper's life. With Xana gone, they go back to their normal lives and that's where Season 5 will pick up.

It is. The best part is the entire series is free to watch on YouTube. It's in English and the native French if you want to start immersion for Mion. Word of warning though. The voice acting is really really bad in spots but then I watched the French dub of early Pokémon and.. I took it all back with a sincerest apology because they're tame compared to this... French Pokémon Viewer discretion advised.

Wow... What a Rollercoaster trip! I love memory lanes! You're very welcome! I'm thankful that you indulged in our chaos! Man... If Thur hadn't gotten banned (or returned on a new account) I wonder what other fun mayhem we would have gotten into... Also, we know we're toxic lol. We've talked about that. We encourage each other in everything, even what society consists bad (I won't elaborate, don't worry). I do usually provoke her... We live in completely different countries and it is all jokes! Seriously no need to actually worry! It's just part of our friendship! Trust me, you'll love her. She's a big ball of energy and loves a good time and she's incredibly kind and supportive! She reminds me of an Eevee-Skitty fussion! She's just fun to be around and it's hard not to smile with her! I hope you will feel the same and not hate her and then look at me like I'm crazy and think "Dang, Hades really ruined everything with her" and then stop talking to me and then I'll be confused and you can't explain because you wouldn't want to offend me or Mion so then I'll be devastated and you leave the Forums to get away from her and everything would be my fault! The chances of that happening are (hopefully) unlikely, but I'll be so sad if that does happen...

FYI, at the time I evolved to Dragonite, yes it was part of the thread you mentioned but what many of you don't remember or know, it was also because at the SAME TIME I was getting mass flagged due to a different thread and was pretty much outraged at everything. So the timing was right for me to evolve. Unless, @Evolve8eon you want to claim responsibility for the mass flagging done to me? ( I was pretty sure it wasn't you though, @Evolve8eon )

I was Dragonair on the Jan 27th. On January 28th I started getting targeted in a different thread and mass flagged on my wall, even all the Pokemon related comments. (Over 80+ flags in one day from my wall alone) Then that person went through most of my comments systematically in that same section of the forums to try to keep me out. I watched as it happened and tagged mods. I still have those flags.

How about this for your friend? Name: TBD(that's obviously for her to decide). Gender: Female. Species: Ralts(evolve into Gardevoir). Ability: Telepathy(prevents damage from Allies. Synergies with the Class I'll recommend). Pokemon moves: Draining Kiss + Confusion. Community: Highborne(or w/e she wants). Class: Guardian. Subclass: Stalwart. Class Item: Secret Key. Starting Potion: Health. Domain Cards: Bare Bones(Valor) + I am Your Shield(Valor) + Get Back Up(Blade). Experiences: Thief + Quick Hands + . Stubborn to a fault(eh every female I've known is stubborn). Traits: S(+3), A(+1), I(+1), F(+1), P(+1) and K(+0). ← I chose two Trait upgrades for level 2. Bumped Strength and -1 trait to zero(K in this case) and then bumped the +0 to +1. For equipment, she'd have a Mace + Round Shield for solid Tank setup. The Bare Bones card is upgraded to Tier 2 or 11/24(which is roughly as strong as the unique armor I just got) with an Armor score of 6(3 + Strength, which is better). Round Shield adds +1 Armor score but I'm not sure if GM would permit Tier 2 Equipment. If he does then the Tier 2 Shield gives +2 Armor score and the Mace does D8 +4 instead of D8 +1. This would give her 14/27 on Damage Thresholds(+2 from level and +1 from Subclass), the means to tank Severe damage with ease thanks to Get Back Up along with I am your Shield permitting Tanking for Allies and has an above average Armor score(7 or 8, which is really good). Evasion is still 9 but she has 7 HP and 6 Stress slots so she's in a good spot compared to everyone else.

The point of the build is to tank for others by using her armor slots as often as possible and using her Hope Feature to clear them to absorb more punishment. Having low Evasion isn't a bad thing because her damage thresholds are higher than most(even mine heh). Her ability makes her a great ally tank because you can use AoE moves and not worry about hitting her(she basically is immune to Ally attacks).

Feel free to broach Daggerheart before she registers on here. That way she already has an idea as to what she wants to be. If you'd like, I can generate a potential "character" if I get feedback on what Pokémon species she'd like to be. I'll even "consider" the Expansion classes, but I might be fair to everyone else and limit it to the base set. Guardian is a possibility, but so is Seraph. Could also be a Warrior or Druid if she really wants to(or a Class we already have heh).

Wait isn't over yet. She joins tomorrow or later today for those on the States. @sir_uledge CET is UTC +2. Pacific Timezone, for comparison, is UTC -7 or 9 hour difference. If there is a 6-hour difference, then that would put Hades at UTC -4 IF AND ONLY IF she's on CET. If she's in UK, it's UTC +1, wherein Hades would be UTC -5 with the same time difference. That's why I like UTC. Makes coordinating much easier. Now if we'd just get back to Standard time and STAY there I'd feel better. We fall back in a month or UTC -8 for me when the time comes heh.

Yes I did. Surprised Mion hasn't migrated here 😇 Honestly feel a Gardevoir Seraph would be her setup for Daggerheart if she opted to play but then again she can be whatever she wants. Expansion classes are at her disposal too so she could make you jealous as a Brawler but you got the chance to play it(yes it's broken as bleep @Mimikyi24 ). Guardian would be a good choice too.

To be fair.... Umbreons rock 😎🖤 and they seem very appropriate for the end of this month. I would join, just.... I can't. Big Dragonite can't evolve to a small eeveelution... It doesn't work in my mind. The physical aspect aside, I don't think our temperaments match.

@sir_uledge there are many reasons. The main ones are it's in Europe, meaning I can visit the UK and France while there (I mean, there are other countries I can visit but those two are my main focus) and the fact they have free college

Still working out the cost but I'll be able to afford it. I said "in two years" because I'll be using that time to save up the money for it. Even if it's expensive to get there it is cheaper in the long run without all the college debts. And since I'll be going into a good paying career (medical field) I won't have anything to stress about paying anything back (never took out college loans) and actually get to enjoy the fruits of my labor

I just think I've FINALLY found what I've been needing for this assignment. I only have 5 days left and I feel sick. I underestimated the work. It genuinely looked easy. I'm having regrets. Gives a 7 hour long speech about how pointless essays are, the fact the current education system is not actually teaching anything, and trying to encourage an uprising for lesson texts to be replaced with memes, YouTube videos, musicals, and animes. I would genuinely learn a lot more that way

Okay, to be clear I meant educational memes, YouTube videos, musicals, and animes. Not just let us sit around and do nothing. Tell me something and I'll forget it. Repeat it non-stop and I'll get annoyed. Make it a joke and I'll remember it. Make it a musical I'll memorize it. Make it an anime I'll learn it. Words on a screen/book doesn't do (me) any good and a teacher talking to me gets on my nerves. I'm an independent learner that will ask for help when needed But things like History and Science are not best taught in words. That is a see to learn imo. But I didn't feel like getting into details. That's why I summarized it with "7 hour long speech"

i think the current education system encourages cramming and therefore you aren't actually learning anything because you are so focused on grades instead of concept like i couldn't tell you what things i learned last year i also feel experience is way more important then presentation i learned way more about writing by writing fanfic instead of english classes

For example, to teach languages, instead of doing pointless lessons and vocabulary sheets, we should do like babies : we watch people interact, try to interact too, and everything will come in our brains and we won't just remember dumbly random things learnt by heart that we will write down on a test and forget the next second
Stories, anime, books, videos, are indeed a good way to learn (if it's not brainrot things and if it's well-explained ofc)
Like, history classes for me are boring, but Id enjoy learning it through a movie or series !
Same for others things : we remember mottos, characters, and all the stuff in what we enjoy to watch or read (including memes) so if it was enjoyable everyone could remember mosst of the lessons ! (like, how did we remember the pokemon names ? Because we like them, their stories, designs, etc !)

I think it goes without saying that the education system needs reform. High schoolers can't read, middle schoolers can't tell time, and 8th graders don't know their US states and capitals. As @clasingla was saying, the current school system (at least in the US) encourages cramming and optimizing for the next week rather than the next year. Nobody actually ends up learning anything and it's countless hours of our lives gone. Not only this, but I've ran into high schoolers that don't know basic table manners - how to hold utensils, chewing with your mouth closed, etc. I'm not even expecting a bunch of Queen Antoinette's, I just want to be around people that know how to function like normal human beings.
