I don’t have that stadium in any of my decks, but anytime an opponent uses it I have literally never, not once, seen it flip heads - neither for my opponent nor for myself. Seems bugged maybe?
Opponent was playing a deck with the garde card that was just unbanned. I put enough energy onto my active Pokémon to retreat and the game froze. They did not play anything or use an attack that would prevent me from retreating.
