Disappointed with the shiny locks. That was very unexpected.

If you have Switch Online as well as a Koraidon, you can use link trades with special code 0399-0400. This code, and others like it, represent dex numbers. You can use this one to offer up your Koraidon and see if you run into someone who offers a Miraidon.

The pop-in due to the limited draw distance is good for gameplay, actually. You can see every pokemon generated in the overworld at a glance, and you can easily spawn an entire set of new ones.

I am pleased with what i have seen so far

Like other people said, theyve put out a new generation every three years like clockwork for over a decade now. Maybe they take 4 years and do 2026. But anything more than that is extremely unlikely.

Switch 2 first half of '24. Lets Go in Nov '24. Then Gen 10 in '25. Maybe something else is released in between that pushes Gen 10 to '26 but I doubt it. But definitely not '27, '25 is the most likely option.

Is it actually possible to detect whether the ball a pokemon was caught in was real or not?

This is not an insurmountable obstacle or anything, but the level system which we have had since Gen 1 makes this idea nigh impossible to implement. After about 5-10 hrs of gameplay, all your pokemon are fully evolved and know their strongest moves. If there's more content in the game, the entire experience/evolution/move…
