The type of the attack is determined by the typing of the Pokemon, not by the energy used for the attack. Charizard ex with the Burning Darkness attack is a dark-type Pokemon, not fire.

In regards to the Heatmor, did your opponent have the Charizard from Pokemon GO in play? Its ability makes each Fire energy count as 2 Fire energy, so 3 energy would effectively become 6. Did it have Fusion Strike Energy attached? "As long as this card is attached to a Pokémon, it provides every type of Energy but provides only 1 Energy at a time. Prevent all effects of your opponent’s Pokémon’s Abilities done to the Pokémon this card is attached to.

You can! In the profile section, there's a small button with your friends list. From there you can add your friends, and send them challenges so you can play games against your friends

When's the last time you updated? A few updates ago required a full reinstall of the game, so if it's taking you to the Pokemon TCG Live website, it's probably asking you to uninstall your current version and download a new install.

Are you attempting to launch Pokemon TCG Live, or Pokemon TCG Online? Online has been shut down for months to move everybody to the new client, which is called Pokemon TCG Live.

I'm assuming we're talking about Kyogre with the Aqua Storm attack? Was the second target either a Bidoof with the carefree countenance ability, or a tera-type Pokemon ex? Both of those would have bench damage protection and negate the damage from Kyogre.

Correct, there's no way to purchase crystals. They can be earned via daily challenges, or as ranked ladder rewards.
