Is there any way to actually buy product at close to MSRP now?

When my daughter came home from school with cards several years ago now, I took it as an opportunity for us to partake in playing the game together as a hobby. My wife, seeing us both enjoying our time playing and opening boosters, wanted to join us, play as well, and so we all had an enjoyable hobby to play together at our Kitchen table, buying a booster box to split the packs within and build our best decks from what we got.

However, the warning signs, were perhaps there, when shortly after starting playing, we tried to get an ETB for Celebrations (25th) and were physically unable to find any of the Celebrations product anywhere. I assumed it was perhaps an issue with being chronically underprinted. I realised how bad it had gotten when, having had no issues with booster box availability aside from celebrations, we got to Shrouded Fable (Where there were many many staple cards) and once again, could not find any product. Since then, we have been unable to find two sets in a row, where both were available.

I understand that the early bird catches the worm, however, for people with families and the children themselves, who don't have the money or the time to go to the lengths scalpers are going to, it has reached critical mass.

It has gotten to a point that the three of us are being driven away from an activity that brought us much joy together. There are other TCG's of course, and we have other activities we do together anyway. But it doesn't seem especially fair that we are completely locked from access to a product that is being bought up by the caseload by people who don't care about actually playing the game, or have any ethical scruples about driving future generations away from the game for the sake of making quick sleazy coin.

I don't know what I was hoping to achieve posting this message, it's as much venting as anything, but I really don't want my family activity to be taken away, or be forced into paying scalper prices to continue playing the game.

You might be able to find good card stores that do msrp on release day, or purely lower prices like my local card store.
