Pokemon Legends: Lamonica chapter twenty-eight

Chapter 28:

Shiroboshi and Siege had just arrived at the battle court to spar, when Bella came in with Izzy and said, “What are you boys doing?” “Sparring,” Shiroboshi said, “We're all packed up.” “Ok,” Bella said, watching them as they started. Shiroboshi lunged at Siege who dodged with lightning-fast movements, striking back and knocking the sword out of Shiroboshi’s hand. Bella laughed and said, “That’s all you’ve got, Shiroboshi? Try against me.” At this, Bella grabbed a double-edged sword. “Bring it on,” Shiroboshi said. Bella lunged, dodging all of Shiroboshi’s attacks and then retaliating, nearly disarming him. “It’s not that easy,” Shiroboshi said, parrying another attack from Bella and then retaliating.

Bella was panting in the middle of the spar against Shiroboshi and she said, “Is that all you’ve got?” “Nah,” Shiroboshi replied, lunging again, quickly disarming her, “I was holding back the entire time.” “Unsurprising,” Bella said just as Quom and Shade came in, Vee trailing behind. “Are we ready to go?” Quom asked. “Yeah,” Bella said, “You?” “Yup,” Quom said, “Let’s go.” The group walked out the doors as Izzy asked, “What’s our next stop?” “Snowpoint City,” Quom said, “Shiroboshi needs the next badge.”

Soon, the group made it to a good place to stop for the night where they set up camp. After she sat down, tired from walking on crutches all day, Izzy said, “How much further do you think it’ll be tomorrow?” “Not much further,” Quom said, “You should get some rest. Call me if you need anything.” “Okay,” Izzy said, “Thanks.” “No problem,” Quom said, as Izzy made her way into the tent she was sharing with Bella. Soon Bella walked in and said, “How are you doing?” “Good,” Izzy replied, “You?” “Good,” Bella said, “I’ve seen the way you look at him. When you think nobody’s watching.” “Wha-?” Izzy said, startled, “Who are you talking about?” “Shiroboshi,” Bella replied, “The way you two battle in sync. I know you like him.” “I don’t know what you mean,” Izzy said indignantly, “We’re just friends.” “Sure,” Bella said, “Keep your secrets. Another Pokémon battle tomorrow?” “Sure,” Izzy replied. They lay in silence for a few minutes until, breaking the silence, Bella said, “He likes you too you know.” Izzy almost replied, before deciding to instead stay quiet. After a while, getting tired, Izzy said, “Good night.” “Good night,” Bella replied.
