My mother takes great offense to that given the voice cast/songs of the animated film. Live action variant though, to quote her own words, can rot in bleep. I will agree that Atlantis and Treasure Planet are criminally underrated.

Alot of 90's films got straight to video sequels but so too did films from previous decades. You got Aladdin 2 and 3, Cinderella 2 and 3, Mulan 2, Peter Pan 2, Jungle Book 2, Lion King 1 and 1/2 and 2... Ugh, Fox and the Hound 2, Pocahontas 2, Lady and the Tramp 2, Little Mermaid 2... Need I go on?
Should be classified as the no shame era. Ugh.

the rescuers du was actually the only renaissance one to not get a dvd sequel, kinda ironic considering it was the second Disney sequel ever besides the three caballeros
