Pokemon Legends: Lamonica chapter eleven

Chapter 11:

Shiroboshi woke up from another nightmare, startled. His nightmares seemed to be getting more and more realistic. Giratina had tried again to convince him to join him, while he had refused; he had had a sense of unease at this dream. He went outside his tent to see that once again; Izzy was on watch. “Hi Shiroboshi,” Izzy said, “What was it this time?” “Another nightmare,” he said with a sigh. “If you don’t like them, why ignore them?” Izzy asked, “Why not face them head on? You’re stronger than the rest of the group put together if you try. Why do you keep running from the nightmares?” “I suppose, I just don’t want to be reminded of that place,” Shiroboshi said. “What place?” Izzy asked. “Newmoon Island,” Shiroboshi replied, “That’s where I first met Giratina. I was asleep, truly at Newmoon Island for a week.” “That’s... creepy,” Izzy said, “Did Giratina trap you there?” “Sort of, but that’s also just what happens there,” Shiroboshi said. “Well, I’m glad you didn’t stay stuck there,” Izzy responded, prompting Shiroboshi to say, “Yeah, it was so creepy.” 

The next morning, when everyone was up, Quom asked, “Shiroboshi, Izzy why are you still out here? You should have woken me for second watch.” “We weren’t tired,” they both said in unison. “Why did you come out in the first place, Shiroboshi?” Asked Quom. “A nightmare from Giratina woke me up,” he replied, “But let’s eat breakfast and get going.” After breakfast, the group set off, Shiroboshi having a conversation with Izzy, “Are you sure that Cynthia’s the strongest champion?” “Yes,” Izzy replied, “What does Kanto have? Drake? He’s nothing compared to Cynthia!” “Drake is the most powerful trainer to ever enter Kanto,” Shiroboshi insisted, “His team has Dragonite, Metagross, Tyranitar, Hydreigon, Goodra, and a Garchomp!” “Cynthia also has a Garchomp,” Izzy said, “She also has Milotic, Spiritomb, Lucario, Roserade, and Gastrodon!” They continued this arguement into the distance.

“We’re here,” Quom said, “Canalave City.” Izzy looked around at the city, amazed. She had never really been to any town or city outside of Karn and this one looked astonishing. She noticed that Shiroboshi was also amazed and she said, “Never left Mahogony Town before?” “No,” Shiroboshi replied, “But, I’m ready to fight Byron. I beat his son, so I think I can beat him.” They walked down to the Canalave Gym and entered. “Is that Shiroboshi I see?” Came a voice from above, “And who are these friends of yours?” “Yes, it’s me,” Shiroboshi said, “Hi Mr. Byron.” “Oh, come on, just call me Byron,” said Byron, “So who are these?” “This is Quom Nana-Iro, that’s Shade, then that’s Bella, then my cousin Siege,” Shiroboshi said subsequently pointing at them all, then pausing slightly, “Then this is Izzy.” Izzy realized how close she was standing to Shiroboshi and carefully – was that sadness she felt? - stepping a few inches away. “I assume that you’re here for a gym battle Shiroboshi?” Asked Byron. “Yes,” Shiroboshi replied. “Then you have to clear the gym challenge!” Byron shouted in glee, “I’ll only let two of you in. So who will you take with Shiroboshi?” Almost immediately, Shiroboshi said, “Izzy.” “Alright,” Byron laughed, “You and your special friend can go in.”
