That sounds plausible. Perhaps you can upgrade the Bow in stages. First stage does it to Tier 2 that might take a long rest or two to do(hence level 2 or 3 if you commit to it). Further upgrades will require more time and long rest investment to hit Tier 3 and Tier 4. Keep in mind higher tier Equipment doesn't change the damage dice but rather the bonus damage that is added at the end.

Plus you may find a unique Bow(like a Gilded Bow) that sacrifices range but deals Magic damage and has a unique property that makes it valuable to have.

@clasingla I know your busy but figured I'd keep you in the loop. Take note of this when you got the time.

This will be another thing for the gm to decide if we got out of the guild or were detained. I'll just assume we make it into the street.
