Mega Venusaur ex

Why is that

From a competitive standpoint it's a no go. I mean it's a stage 2 mega ex and requires lot of energy... which makes the setup slow and inconsistent... it requires too many pieces to fall into place to become viable.
I'm saying this within the context of the current meta… you can also see how badly it has performed overall and recent tournaments.

Thank you and I couldn't agree more

Talking from a gameplay perspective? All of them. They are all game breaking and with how the live game RNG is skewed to get them out ASAP each match, it is even worse. Mega Starmie is probably the worst culprit where by turn 2 or 3 every game it shows up in it is dealing 170 damage out with one single energy AND has over 300 HP. I even saw one player get one of the mega gimmicks up to 500 HP. Pair that with the wally card? Oh my goodness, the gameplay is absolutely awful right now.

I wonder why you are experiencing such bad games against Mega's, because most of them have no meta relevance with in my opinion only 2 having any sort of place in conversations about the meta being M Kanga and M Lucario; arguments could be made for M Lopunny but its struggled with high placements outside of winning Regional Utrecht in may and arguments could be made for M Starmie but that has had only 3 Regional top 8 and not International top 8 finishes. Could you possibly share the deck you mainly play with cause that may be why you feel these decks are more oppressive than they should be cause a lot of these decks are fairly weak and will therefore run very consistent set ups to help with the slack.

My perspective is likely to be different than the real world because I only play the live game and see how broken the RNG is in favor of meta decks. In real life, without the RNG giving you a % chance of getting each card, especially when they want the meta to stay on top, the randomness is going to be hugely impactful.
I use an Ethan's pokemon deck with the Cyndaquil/slugma lines and ho-oh combo. I even have some fezandipitis tossed in. The problem is that I can have 4x of different cards and get halfway through my deck and NEVER see one of them. It's just not mathematically possible for odds to be that bad nearly every day. Meanwhile, it is EXTREMELY rare and near only when I play xenosic's machinations that the opponent MIGHT have to slow down from just cranking out evolutions and item cards.

I would disagree on Mega Venusaur ex. At the recent Japan Championships (2700 player tourney), it got third. Mega Venusaur is one of the best of the Mega Pokémon; albeit there aren’t too many that are viable. The big one is Mega Kangaskhan because of its ability, and there’s also a handful of cards that have meta or meta adjacent decks: Greninja, Starmie, Lopunny, Diancie and Lucario. There are Mega Pokémon that have never even been a part of the meta. I’d suggest Mega Gallade and Mega Abomasnow are the bottom 2.

Mega Gardevoir, because theres nothing to really pair it with.

I think Mega latias, because not only does have 300 damage it can deal to the opposing Pokemon (without resistance or weakness) but you have to discard all the energy attached to that Pokemon, along with mega latias having 280 hp? Now I don’t know if that’s really a good card especially when strafe has 40 damage (also without resistance or weakness).
The only thing you can do is hope that your opponent’s pokemon doesn’t have more than 300 hp, or cross your fingers and hope your mega latias survives against a super powerful attack.
