I think they stoped altogether a few years ago and Phycic (Eyeball) took with Normal (Collerless) all the fairy pokemon

Fairy Pokemon were only around in the X/Y and Sun/Moon rotations. Maybe they threw off the balance of the game?

In Pokemon TCG starting with Sword & Shield new Fairy type Pokemon were printed no more, and they were rotated out of the Standard format, making them illegal in Standard competitive play.

The decision was made to reduce the total number of types, with Fairy being folded into Psychic to balance the game's mechanics.

Although they are no longer legal in the Standard format, Fairy type Pokemon are still playable in other formats, like Expanded format.

I have a irl fairy sylveon ex deck and it destroys even today’s meta. They took fairy out because their powerful traits look up sylveon and see…Pokemon even stated fairy types got out of hand with self healing and power so they rolled them into physic but if you can get your hands on a deck and play for fun it’s insane what fairy can do
