Time For Vol.4 of our Manga

"Why do you want to show me that," Ange questions. Korinna sends out a Lucario.

"Well, I want to show you the proper way to grant Mega Evolution," the blonde responds, her partner nodding in agreement.

Ange scoffs, rolling her eyes. "I know perfectly well how to properly achieve Mega Evolution," she shoots back, offended that the other girl thinks she can't.

"You may know how to Mega Evolve Pokémon, but it's not the right way," Korinna explains, further offending Ange. "You hurt the Pokémon when you do it."

"Yeah, I know," Ange responds. "Pain for power. That's how it goes."

Korinna chuckles. "That's where you're wrong."

Ange raises an eyebrow, intrigued. "Explain."

"You see, when a Pokémon and Trainer Mega Evolve, it requires a very strong bond," the guru explains. "If the bond isn't strong enough, then yes, it causes pain. But true Mega Evolution doesn't but still gives the Pokémon its strength."

Ange chuckles and shakes her head. "No. I'm sorry, but you're wrong," she states. "Ever since its discovery, Pokémon have understood that the power causes hurt. The part about Trainer and bonding is because a Pokémon would only take this pain for somebody they truly care about. A bond doesn't remove the pain."

Lucario shakes its head. "Nope. That's how it used to be," it tells her. "But when the bond is true then the Pokémon feels nothing but power."

Ange looks at it with confusion. "There ain't no way," she mutters.

"Ready to see it," Korinna asks. Ange nods eagerly. "Alright," the blonde exclaims. She then taps the keystone in her glove, which sends power to Lucario's Mega Stone. It howls as power begins to fill it, but it's not a howl of hurt. Just strength.

Once the light breaks off of it, Mega Lucario Z is now there. "Did it hurt," Ange questions, shocked when the dog shakes its head.

"No, it doesn't," it replies. "In fact, I feel amazing!"

Ange can't help but stare in disbelief. "Told ya it doesn't hurt them," Korrina states with a confident smirk.

"This is insane," the heterochrom mutters. Since when di they feel fine!? It's always made them feel pain. Is this really the power of a strong bond?

"Glad you like," the other girl says. "Maybe now you can see that pain is unnecessary and you shouldn't hurt them."

So this was just something to try to get me to change my ways, Ange realizes. Well, if I want to achieve my goal, a little pain is need.

"You're right," Ange answers, lying. "I see what I need to change."

Korrina smiles. "Perfect," she exclaims, totally buying Ange's act. "Not let's head inside. I need more donuts!"

The two start to go back inside, but as they do, Ange trips by stepping on her shoe lace (she thought tying them was optional!). The sudden drop makes her fire off a beam out of fear. A beam that hits Korinna!

I thought it was something she would have shown her after knowing her for a bit
