Then let me study it. Maybe I can gain some insight as to what this Feather is and why they wanted it so badly. I assume insight would require a D20 roll no? Got a 17(lucky me).

Copy pasted from the character-making discussion, with the important parts about their characterisation italicised (you could also read my simpler explanation at the bottom of this comment):
It's OK if our characters do bad things, right?
I'll be Ashes the Fennekin. Ashes' backstory is that they used to be from a poor but still well off enough to survive, caring family, but were disowned and kicked out for trying to steal something very important (you can pick what it was, it could be something related to Legendaries or the plot). Ashes is full of greed and wants nothing less than everything that catches their eye. Ashes is a traveller who keeps stealing items and not paying for anything because they can't bear to give away any of their precious belongings, whether it's selling an item or giving money. Ashes' favourite toy as a kid, full of emotional significance to them as they bought it as a kid with their own savings from doing chores and helping people, was stolen and then destroyed when they were young after they left it with a friend, which led to them never wanting to let other people handle their things ever again, and the issues just got worse as they grew. Ashes has a secret cave full of gold and riches, but will never tell anyone its location.
Ashes is very energetic and likes to run and play tricks. Their favourite food is Cheri berries. Ashes dislikes making friends, sharing, drinking plain water, mazes, and Sitrus berries.
A simpler explanation, without backstory: A thief with trust issues who hates giving people anything they think is theirs, whether it's money or an object. They also love stealing and collecting things to hoard somewhere secret they'll never tell anyone. They're selfish and very greedy. They love stealing from and pickpocketing people due to their immense greed.
The backstory, simplified: One thing you can tie into the story is that they tried stealing something very important (maybe something Legendary-related or plot-related? you can choose what this is) and failed, leading to their family disowning them and kicking them out for trying something like that, especially due to the item they tried stealing's importance. Other backstory parts: Something they loved a lot and worked hard to get got broken when they left it with a friend for a little while as a little kid, launching a domino effect that lead to their current selfishness, greed, and dislike of people.

Could we delay it by a few days? I'm not sure I'll be available around that time.
