Squawkabilly fly ability

Hi guys,

I'm new to the Pokemon TCG and have a question about Squawkabilly. When using fly I have to flip a coin. And if I get tails the attack does nothing. Is this only the extra effect or is the damage of 60 also stoped? This is quite confusing to me, because this would weaken the attack a lot.

If you flip tails, the attack as a whole will be nullified, which includes the 60 damage.

Then the attack will be treated as if it were used and end your turn.

Also, keep in mind that Attacks and Abilities are different.

I’m stuck on this too. I’m trying to understand specifically when damage gets applied AFTER I get heads. Like can someone give an example in detail of what this whole attack looks like?
