Old and New EXes

Do old moves that specifically affected EXes also affect new EXes, or are they considered different?

There are 3 types of "ex":
-The very old ex (playable in Legacy, last printed 2007);
-Then the EX (*playable in Expanded, from XY expansion);
-And now the new ex (playable in Standard/Expanded, from S&V expansion).
There are other game modes with specific rules, but those 3 modes are the ones most people are familiar with in online game, in this post I'm only refering to those 3 modes.
Again about the "exes" they use the same letters, but yes are considered different types.
If lets say you played Expanded and there were EX and ex Pokémons, the "moves" that specifically affected the EX would not had effect on the new ex.
*In TCG Live game the Expanded is incomplete so for now you can't play XY expantion cards. You will have to play IRL or in TCG Onine.
