What I am worried about when Ash Ketchum returns

I heard that the Pokémon staff said Ash Ketchum might return in a matter of time. But this is what I am worried about:
I am worried that Ash will return non-canon because it would make it horrifying. I am also scared that if he only returns in a side-story, it would make Pokémon Horizons left out and make 2 of the series a race.
What I want is after Pokémon Horizons is finished, they could make a Canon movie, special episode, or better a series to show Ash again.
Do you think one of these return formats would happen?
