My life as a gym leader-Part 4 Pressing On

Yesterday, was absolutely AMAZING! It all started after a long night of NOT sleeping because first of all, I'm not a big camping person. And second, this is the furthest I've ever been from my home in my life!

Anyways after I got up, I fed my Pokemon and then we set off! Calems map on his Pokedex routed him around the frost caverns, so on the way there, I found and caught my first Pokemon in a LONG time! A Pumpkaboo! And also, It's the first Pokemon I've ever caught thats not a Poison type OR from Santalune Forest.

Now my team is up to THREE Pokemon! I'm practically unbeatable now! The other night, when it was time to make camp for the night I tried to help gather firewood and I came back basically empty-handed. But Calem on the other hand, with help from his Phantump, managed to snag armfuls of firewood! Shauna seemed so impressed with that simple-minded show off! But now Pumpkaboo can help me out with the wood gathering!

Hopefully, with this problem out of the way, we can finally start to be friends and this rift will disperse. Have I mentioned how badly I want friends yet? If not? I am incredibly desperate to get rid of this lonesome feeling in my heart. No amount of battling can fill this void. I already tried that as a gym leader and it just made it worse.

So around the point on our path where we started to get further away from Lumiose City, Calem suspected that something was wrong with his directions and said that we should just go with our gut on this one while Shauna objected. Calem and Shauna decided that some of us should go with Him and the other half with her. Tierno and Serena went with Calem but, I hate to say it, I actually sided with Calem on this one. Or at least I was planning on it, but Shauna had other ideas… She put me on the spot! When I looked into her eyes, there was nothing I could do!

So Me and Shauna went one way, and everyone else went the other way. As we went further and further I nervously asked Shauna if she was sure this was the right way to Lumiose City? Surprisingly, she revealed her master plan all along was to set Calems map to lead to the Frost Caverns instead of Lumiose City! She said that she did it because she was looking for a specific Pokemon called Articuno?

As we got closer to the Frost Caverns, it started to get colder and colder, and even start SNOWING! And also, other Pokemon trainers started to appear and join us! Shauna said they were here for the "Raid Battle?" I think that's what she called it… Near the end of our little adventure, the snow turned into a blizzard that was so thick, you couldn't see five feet in front of your face!

Pretty soon, we found the "Articuno". By the way, I didn't know Pokemon could get that big! It was absolutely giant! And the air temperature around it dropped about 50 degrees! It was so cold! I was wearing multiple layers and a jacket and I was practically frozen! I don't know how Shauna was warm enough to battle when all she was wearing was like, a tee shirt!

Whenever everyone started to battle and sent out their Pokemon, I sent out Whirlipede and Shauna sent out Greninja. The battle was legendary! There were Ice Beams coming "THIS" close to my head and giant boulders being thrown and Leaf Blades and Flame Bursts! I could barely stay in the fight, Whirlipede was doing virtually ZERO damage and was mainly just trying to avoid stray fire!

After a while of battling, almost everyone's Pokemon was knocked out! Only Whirlipede and Greninja were left. Greninja, because he was so sneaky. And Whirlipede, because he was doing so little damage that Articuno didn't think he was a big enough target to take out! So as the battle came to a close, Articuno tried to fly off into an ice cave but Shauna went after it! She implored me to do so as well, so I grabbed onto Whirlipede and off I went!

It finally stopped in an ice cave but after it knocked out Greninja and Whirlipede, the icy floor broke out from under us and we fell into the abyss as Articuno escaped! I grabbed onto a ledge and Shauna's hand and "almost" pulled us up out of the hole in the ground! But it was too slippery and I couldn't hold on, so my hand slipped and we fell, and fell, all the way into the icy cold water at the bottom of the abyss.

I tried to send out Beedrill to catch us and fly us out, but it was too cold for Beedrill to fly, because Ice types are good against Bug types. So after we climbed out of the icy water we found an even deeper part of the Ice Caverns, Previously undiscovered! As we explored Shauna seemed cold so I gave her my jacket. It was at that point where I wished I had caught a Fire type Pokemon instead of just a Pumpkaboo. I felt like during this trip mine and Shauna's bond really strengthened! I think I really like Shauna, and I think she likes me too! Just then, I noticed! I wasn't that cold any more! At the very end of the tunnel, it let out right at the point where we separated from Calem and the others.

We eventually decided to put our quest for Articuno on pause and come back later after our Pokemon have become a lot stronger! We agreed to become rivals and to face off against each other in hope that it will drive us to become stronger than we ever could by ourselves! It might be kind of hard to fight someone everyday with a face like that…

In the end, we met up with Calem and the others. When they asked how our trail led us back to them, I just shrugged my shoulders. And then our progress towards Lumiose City resumed, just like that. And that's how the day ended. And let me tell you. It was AMAZING!
