    Rank 1 (☆): 0

    Rank 2 (☆☆): I forgot (I think it was 50?)

    Rank 3 (☆☆☆): 100

    Rank 4 (☆☆☆☆): 500

I didn't realize these forums had points.

I think @UnovanZorua is correct. Sounds about right, anyway.

But do not worry about things like that. Just try to contribute to discussions in meaningful ways.

Personally I still maintain that ranks, points and badges should be removed. They only encourage people to spam threads to accrue Brownie points and ranks. Even worse, if people take them too seriously, they may begin to only treat high ranking accounts with respect and dismiss or even abuse low ranking ones.

I would rather read something interesting from a 1 post, 1 star account than the hundreth "true" or "lol" from a 5 star account.

If you make interesting, insightful or helpful posts, you will gain a reputation on the forum without any artificial ranking system. The way others respond and engage with you will tell you your standing here, not some arbitrary stars next to your name.
