I bet shinies are kept in a zoo or something. The zoo probably would pay thousands of dollars for a trainer's shiny every time they found one.

would trainers dare eat spinda? Do they think that the pattern they found is 1/4 billion possibilities or would they be like eh I’m going to eat it anyway? Plus if someone was able to get their hands on a legendary would they eat it or sell it for millions

People in different countries eat insects, mostly in oceania. I heard that in Indonesia they like to eat crickets.

I heard people where I'm from used to eat bugs when there weren't any better options.
Also I'm pretty sure edible bugs are things you can buy in some places around the world. I remember hearing about them before.

Also, it's kind of sad to think of what happens when a shiny is found, outside of battles if a trainer finds and keeps them. Rare animals never get the right care.
