@ThePanchamBro I never liked Ash. It doesn't have anything to do with Horizon. Ash has always annoyed me. Granted, he humored me, but I didn't actually like him. I like many of his relationships with others, but not him. Plus, we've had him for 25 years. He's gone through character development, learned who he is, who he wants to be, he's won the championship, and I think we left him in a good spot. I wouldn't mind a short series with him, traveling around each region, having fun, getting into funny predicaments, just being a kid. Plus Team Rocket. I need them. Anyways, a full season of full episodes I think would be bland since he no longer will be developing as a character.

It's not Journeys. It's nothing new. I haven't like him since season one. Indigo Plateau. I've seen his journey. Watched the boy grow. I've seen him have great wins and hard losses. I've seen them build him into a better person. A better trainer. Even if he grows up. Is unbeatable. Meets every Pokémon. That series would still be bland. It doesn't have anything to do with my dislike for him, though. It is because he doesn't need to grow anymore. We would literally just be watching a guy walk around and have fun. That sounds like a fine short series, but full length episodes of full seasons? It wouldn't be enjoyable. Mind you, though, this is my opinion. I don't have a problem with those that want Ash back. I'm just saying why I disagree.

Then why you watch Ash’s series?

Because I still enjoy the show. Just because I don't like him doesn't mean I can't like the series. I still enjoyed watching him become better. Like I said earlier, he humored me a lot, too. It had benefits. Plus, I liked his relationships with people. I loved when him and Misty would argue, or Ash and May would get excited over food, or when he would fanboy over Clemont's smarts. There were parts of him I liked, just not the whole.

Don't mind them. I don't like them but I don't not like them. They're decent. I do like watching new characters grow, however. I'm enjoying watching them discover who they are and where they are going. I don't like that you left out Dot, though. She's my favorite of the three. I like her and out of the trio I look forward to her development most. I think the change was good. And before you think it was because Ash is gone, that's not it at all. I think the change was needed because it was refreshing. New characters, new plot, new dreams, it felt good to get something that's not "Pokémon Master" and a couple side dreams from the people Ash is with. I just think the change was good to keep up engaged.

I wouId Just be confused on why they're bringing back a completed. I don't think I would hate it, just be a bit disappointed. I'm actually hoping that once Liko, Dot, and Roy's story is over, we get new protagonists again. I really like the switch and want them to keep that. It will keep the series fresh and new even with the same things.

Putting new protagonists for the 30th anniversary?! Very unlikely and confusing. I don't think they will do that. And besides, Ash's return is hinted that he is "still in the world". Don't you like Pokémon XY anime?

My favorite of them all, yes. Had the best animations, f1ghts, character development, and Pokémon. It wasn't because of Ash, though, but his development. Anyways, I never said for the 30th anniversary. I said once Horizons end and Liko, Roy, and Dot's stories are over, we get a fresh new protagonist. I think the 30th anniversary is this February or the next, I'm not sure, but I don't expect Horizons to be over that soon.

Anyways, @Hades0918, in my opinion, I am sure Ash will return (or cameo) sometime in the 30th anniversary revealing at 2026, then showing him in 2027. I don’t know if he will meet Liko and Roy, but as long Liko and Roy develops enough, they can finally meet Ash Ketchum without one of them being overshadowed. And BTW, I an ok Ash is no longer the main character, but I just want see him again and prove if Horizons is set in the same universe canon. I’m ok if you don’t want him back. Have a good day!

Finally. This one has been flagged. Honestly shocked it took so long!

Figure I'd chime in by saying that Ash has been around for 25 years. That's a long time and to be honest, much of the Voice Acting cast is getting up there in age and in Japanese Culture its kind of taboo to replace VA's with someone else, hence if their original VA dies or retires, so too does the character. Its why we haven't seen May in any meaningful capacity since D/P because KAORI doesn't do voice acting anymore. I mean the English VA for Misty and Jesse passed away not that long ago so you have to factor that in when it comes to keeping characters around. Then you factor in that Ash just became World Champion and there isn't much left after that when you think about it. Nothing against him from coming back on a short term basis but as the primary protagonist, his days are now over.

As for Horizons, I'm glad they made Liko or a Female Trainer the focal point for a change. I know there's Roy and Dot but Female Trainers since Dawn haven't even assembled a full team of 6. Iris, despite being a Dragon prodigy, only managed four. Serena only managed three, which is a real shame imo(kudos for her reaching first base in the Shipping Wars). Alola had three female protagonists so it's hard to hold it against them for not getting full teams there and then there's Koharu/Chloe in Journeys who basically was an after-thought and only managed one with Eevee.

The reason I want Liko to succeed and perhaps return for Gen 10 going forward is because 40% of Pokémon Gamers/Fans are FEMALE. It's high time they get the spotlight for a change.

Btw, speaking of Gen 9, I got the Scarlett DLC today online along with Skywalker Saga(and a bunch of DLC) on sale. Assuming I'm not consumed by the Force, I'll get around to starting Scarlett and getting a Pokémon to trade for Alolan Vulpix. I plan on breeding the living snot out of them. Be it Kanto Vulpix or Alolan Vulpix, I will be the go-to person. I just have to get acquainted with modern Trading since this is the first game I've gotten since Generation 1.. 😂

I didn't realize there was a problem with female representation. I agree about Chloe, though. I didn't see a point to having her. She was thrown in here and there but honestly wasn't important. I never cared what gender the protagonist is, though. I just watch the show. I don't like Ash and I would say Liko is decent. I don't really care for Liko and Roy (love Dot!) but I love them as a trio. Seeing them improve and help one another. Individually they're alright, but together they make great characters to follow. I never liked Ash but I loved his relationship with people. Normally I liked the side characters more (Misty, May, Brock, Clemont, Iris, Kukui, Cilan, James, and Meowth) but not the main guy. I kid of do feel the same way now. I'd rather continue watch some of the side characters (Friede, Amethia, Murdock, Old Man Ludwig) individually instead of the main three individually. The gender isn't important to me, I guess. Just the character themself. (Sorry if that may be offensive to anyone)

Speaking of Liko, its been mentioned online that her team kind of resembles as D&D team… Meowscarada as a Rogue, Hatterene as a Cleric, Charcadet(likely Armarouge later given Amenthio has Ceruledge) is a Knight(Paladin or Fighter) and Terapagos can be w/e(Dragon, etc.). Has a Medieval theme to it too.

Armarouge would match her personality, but I wish she would get Ceruledge. Also, I didn't know she was getting Charcadet! That's amazing! I never would have thought about her team like that, so that's pretty cool. Her team being medieval could point to the place that the next region is based off… (I know it's probably not, but I'm dying for a Medieval Europe region!)

She catches Charcadet in Season 3. First 11 Episodes are out in UK but for us in the USA, they won't be out until January(not sure on specific day either). The Episode in particular is Episode 13, which hasn't come out in English yet. Given that Season 3 came out in the UK on October 27th, the second batch of Episodes may come out in the UK around the time the first batch of 11 Episodes finally comes out for USA viewers on Netflix. When that particular Episode will arrive on Netflix, I have no idea but I'd wager sometime in March, maybe April. Also… and I'm using a spoiler here so look at your own risk…

Interesting. Something I think is funny is how you always look specifically at what types are being used on a team. Whether it be a character or your own. I don't look at the types on my team as a whole. I just choose Pokémon I like. Unless it is a new game, in which case I wing it (I never look up the PokéDex of the region). Also, hoping Dot's Quaxwell does evolve. Quaquaval was my first choice and my favorite of the three. As for when the next season is, Pokémon told us a while back. It will be in January. Also, yes. All three of them need a team of 6. I don't care who a character is, I hate incomplete teams.
