I think you're fine @PokeMom244. @Dragonfly102024 don't worry! I get being attached to something and not wanting to let it go. Don't stress too much!

Let's all be honest
While Corbeau was a failed character, he was a very hot man!

I have a feeling that was the main idea behind his character. I hate him and I need to constantly mention why, so here's a warning for the negativity below. He's perfectly engineered to be popular and it worked, with special thanks to how the story tries to make you like him even though he stinks, but it makes him annoying because he barely feels like an actual character because of that (also, I think him being so important in the DLC is because they made him to be liked. A DLC that prominently features a popular character will sell better, even if it's ridiculously overpriced for something that would normally barely count as post-game, and him being so important even though the DLC was finished before the game released hints at something, something not good given it's a generic slightly small post-game bloated with grind to seem longer being sold seperately for half the (post-gameless) game that was marketed and priced as a full game's price. I'm normally not this big of a pessimist but there's no explanation that isn't greedy). I think my least favourite moment is probably him making fun of the rival for having loaned money from him. The rival, who couldn't read the part about interest because it was so comically small and has a variety of issues that led taking the loan to happening. He also called us and Lida before calling the rival about the interest because why not involve unrelated people into this and horribly embarass the rival for essentially no reason. Nothing is stopping him from actually talking to the person who fell for it. The fault is all on him for being a bad person exploiting innocent people unaware of the possibility, him letting people pay it off with volunteer work doesn't make it better, and every time I see someone joking about the rival going into debt I lose faith in humanity. It may be a joke but it feels malicious considering it shifts the blame from the bad person to the affected person without a hint of irony, and I hate the game joining in on the joke in the DLC. Also, the whole "secretly a good person" thing isn't only ruined by the debt thing, it's also ruined by the sheer amount of unneccessarily super-expensive things in the base. He does not need all of that and it contradicts his whole "forcing people to do volunteer work for Lumiose's sake" thing. I have no problem with hypocritical characters but it's handled pretty poorly if that's the case. Anyways, sorry for turning this into a rant about Corbeau. He's the worst character in all of Pokémon and I'd go back in time and make Legends Z-A not happen, making everyone go through four years of nothing, just to make sure he doesn't exist. I blame all of this on him being made for popularity by the writers (and the horribly awkward writing of the Floette scene making people search for reasons to insult the rival over "stealing" Floette, but mostly Corbeau being poorly written. The way he's written feels horribly, horribly off, forced, and money-grabby, especially since TPC/GF are corporations and Z-A is a complete mess, especially if we mention the
paid grinding simulator post-gameDLC).Again, sorry for making a random Corbeau rant, sorry for the amount of negativity in it, and sorry for making it this long on an activity page. Also I haven't played Z-A since I got annoyed by the DLC's grind and the only thing I went to check was the presence of the debt joke in the DLC, so I'll gladly accept and admit I made a mistake and might be overhating him for being just a normal amount of bad if I misremembered something.
-
UnovanZorua
Maybe I regret making that as an activity comment. That's a lot of text and I don't know how I wrote it so easily. I completely understand if you delete the comment so you can scroll normally and I apologise for making it. I don't regret hating Corbeau, though.
-
Hades0918
No, you said that all perfectly. I don't like Corbeau as a character. Like, I hate him. Now, though, I do have to say that I enjoyed the jokes about Urbain accepting the loan. You're right, it's not his fault, but it humors me. I never did think about the fact that it takes the blame off Corbeau, the one that tricked Urbain with nearly impossible to read print. I still haven't finished the DLC, but I was dying when I got to the joke. The last thing I did was put in my Z-A post. I've actually been considering making a new review now that it's been a few months. My opinion has changed a lot since when I first played it. You know, there was something you once said that made me really realized just how much they try to popularize Corbeau. He's the one doing all the computer work even though there is no reason that he would do the computer stuff. Paraphrasing your words, Canari makes more sense to have been doing that than he does, but they want us to love him soooo much that it had to be him. But that's what I was saying about him being a failed character. You cannot tell me that they had completely different plans for him but a few months from release someone said "No, make him a random plot twist good guy" like there wasn't already enough pointless plot twists! Anyways, I'm leaving everything you said there because you spoke pure truth.
-
UnovanZorua
It's not even just them wanting us to like him. They tried and it worked well. They put him in the DLC because they knew it would work, because they knew people would get attached to him, because they specifically designed and wrote him to be the most forced fan-favourite from the start and did it so those fans would have more reason to buy and play the
30$ post-gameDLC. There's a reason he was the only non-MZ/Quasartico character announced before the game released, and it was because it'd make him more popular. Honestly, I'd be fine with it all if he was less obviously made with nothing but greed and more of a well-written character. -
Hades0918
Yes. A well-written character. That's what I feel like Z-A's biggest flaw was. The only character that didn't feel flat was the rival. Everyone else was basic with zero depth.

No!
Heck no!
You are not annoying why would you ask that?!
I always thought at first I was annoying!
UZ, you said it better than anyone couldve! -

Well, I don't really know. My head was just saying I was and I wanted to make sure if it was right or not

Uuuumm… I don't know! A while back we had a Pokemon battle using our profile pictures. Me and @Dragonfly102024 teamed up together and @PokeMom244 wanted to participate but wasn't really into fighting so we recruited them as our support. We came up with the name "Team Dragon Flame" in reference to Dragonfly being Dragonite (a dragon) and me Charizard (the flames). Even thought PokeMom isn't a Fire type or Dragon type, we say they have the fiery personality of both types! It wasn't something that we intentionally made, but when we did it just stuck and the three of us wear our member badge proudly!

I used to have a few back a gazillion years ago, I had a green one that had wings and music notes on the back side, I called her Melody. (IDK what the real name was). Pegasus and unicorn styles were my favs back in preschool & kindergarten.... That was also the time of Rainbow Bright (the original, & yes, someone gave me a doll for Christmas once), Carebears, Strawberry Shortcake, Smurfs, He-man & She-ra. Ahhhh memories!

This week's word deserves a thanks to @fineasmatei, who gave me the word
Word of the week: Ubiquitous
It means extremely common, found practically everywhere
Thing of the Internet of Things, or the idea that every device that can be connected to the internet is
Your fridge, house, phone, watch, and anything else you can think of is on the internet
Now take that idea, and say everyone has it
The IoT is now ubiquitous
It is common and everywhere
Hope you learned something and see you next week!

Yep guys I learned something again!
Nice suggest Fineas!
Hades you make it make sense to everyone! -
Dragonfly102024
Cool word and very good explanation. (I have heard this word before, I just don't use it on my common everyday language/speak... Hmmm would that mean that for me, ubiquitous is not part of my ubiquitous speech? (I totally didn't use that right lol).
-
PokeMom244
The mass disagreeer is hitting you hard!
Me looking at my disssagres to see if they have gone up -

Does any else find it funny that 'Ubiquitous' means common but is, like, the least common word ever…?

I could swear I saw a whole discussion about it, but it disappeared while I was checking the other recent discussions.
-
Dragonfly102024
So they banned him AND deleted the thread where forum members talked about it? Ohhhhh.... Did you see who's watching the forums today (or was on earlier)? I saw someone that may or may not be......hmmmm ..... I'm gonna check.. be careful everyone.
-
Hades0918
I don't know. Went off for a few hours and he was gone. The theory that was in the post about it was that he got too aggressive. He responded rudely to @fineasmatei and lashed out on me quite a few times recently. I think that with some other things are the cause.
-
PokeMom244
I made a discussion as well.
I didn't see this sooo yeeeah. Im late to the party😅
I bet mine will be deleted as well. -
Dragonfly102024
@Evolve8eon 's correct.... The TPCI was on for the past few days.... (I tagged them recently due to them promising to let us see the other teams composition in Unite pregame so we could pick our moves accordingly as they promised in their post... so I've been watching specifically when they're on, waiting to see if they'd reply, but no, I'm too little probably lol). Anyways, the admin was on during the banning and thread removal. That's why I said to be careful, IDK if they check our walls.......
-
PokeMom244
@Smellykiki, ok here lemme explain.
So you can get banned on the forums. (You cant log on any more because your banned)
And someone did. (@UnownJ7)
So we're trying to figre out why.
They have gotten banned before and this is their second time.
He was lashing out a few times and was being a bit pushy and intense. so that possibly why they got banned.

Find one that fits you and your personality or a fav Pokemon... That's what I'd do. It helps when you're pfp is different then other bigtime contributors to the forums because people might get you both mixed up. But if it's truly one you want to be, then be true to you!
-
Hades0918
Well, I was meaning that you should go with the one that you like and feel good seeing yourself as. For example, Charizard was the one that was me. Any time I changed pictures, it didn't feel right because Charizard just felt like me. Hard to explain until you find the one you love.

Man...
I just read a story that I wrote...
Doing Math
Four years ago!
It was for a homework assignment
I was asked to write a Short Story
If memory serves, a short story is 500-1000 words
I broke this by a lot
So, we had to make many edits to get it to 1500 words, which my teacher accepted
I've always wondered if I'm a better writer then I was a few years ago since I don't really practice it or study it, but I definitely think I am
I will say this was one of the funniest things I've ever read!
Had me rolling the entire time
But the quality isn't that good
Confusing descriptions of setting and pretty basic description of characters (the character descriptive were so bland, too)
It is a mystery story, main character being "Detective Izzy" a character I still use to this day
There were only eight characters in it
Izzy, Kylie (his cousin and crime fighting partner), Police lieutenant, Police Captain, two bamkers, and the two culprits
With such a small cast it was very easy to identify "whodunit"
Plus, I think certain events should be redone for better flow and build up
I remember a line from the edited version that I wish was in the original!
So in the original Izzy and Kylie pay a taxi double to speed 100 miles an hour to get to a bomb before it blows
They end up paying him 20 dollars each, reluctantly agreeing to both pay 50/50
However, in the edited version, the Captain (who strongly dislikes the two) dives them there, and even they deactivate the bomb he says "Looks like I owe the two of you am apology" since he was a jerk to them
After a moment of silence, Kylie asks "Well, where is it?"
The captain replied with "I said I owe you I've, not that I would give it to you"
While yes the thought of a taxi speeding down the street for just 40 dollars is humorous to me, I like the final version's a lot better
I wish I still had the doc with the final version
I would love to see just how different they were!

Just a bit more review. The sentences were definitely too choppy and emotions could have been delivered better. Plus, my word choices needed a lot of work. I think my word choice has definitely improved over the years!
-
Hades0918
That's what I'm thinking of doing! I do need to change the description of two characters for legal reasons, though. I described the Captain as "Waluigi from Super Mario and Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb combined but toothless" and the male banker as having "a Scrooge McDuck accent" I don't want to go through the legal system for three character names when I can easily change it. It humored me, though!
-
Voltareon2012
I read my old writing and laugh for two reasons- one, I used to funnier, and two, my comedy is… really ridiculous.
-
Hades0918
I would make that the next word of the week, but I don't know how to explain it. It's just a word that you have to know through context.
-
fineasmatei
aw my pisture i worked so hard on got messed up because the enter button dont make a new line in here. also im just hyper right now read @Dragonfly102024's profile for explanation okay byyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeee
