It's not because of Oricorio. Fusion Strike Energy protects the Pokemon it's attached to from the effects of Abilities.2 -

This is working correctly. Moving to the bench removes all lingering effects of attacks, which is why attacks like this are never meta-relevant. That's also why they played the Rope in the first…2 -
