First Pokemon I caught in Heart Gold was a Hoothoot named "Basketball", that nickname is one that I always remember for some reason. Also in Platinum I had a Porygon named "FunkyMonky" lol.

I gotta go with the 1015 random Pokemon; I'm banking on the fact that that it is more likely than not you will probably get a few strong Pokemon and probably even a few mythicals/legendaries if you got 1015 random Pokemon. Just a few legedary Pokemon all you need to beat the Rowlett imo.

All of the Paradox Pokemon for sure, they all either look really cool or really silly. Apart from that, ofc the main series legendaries, all of the starters, but for sure my absolute favorite from this generation is Tinkaton.
