Sounds like a bug to me as the damage counters should not even trigger as damage. I wonder if this bug would work with tm devo and and taking multiple prizes for active and bench.1 -

BM means Bad Manner; BM an opponent = Being rude, show unsportsmanlike behavior, etc… towards your opponent.1 -
