THE EXPLANATION OF ASH KETCHUM’S RETURN
Alright, this can be the answer to almost everything about Ash Ketchum’s return thanks to my passion, ChatGPT, research, and analysis. This will explain his return is possible and confirmed. I hope you will understand and believe he will return.
I understand that all of you have been asking and crying for Ash thinking they kill him off cuz they got tired of writing about him that they want to reboot (Even though that is not true) or some of you want him gone and over even though you are looking at this positive explanation, and if you’re thinking I want him gone, you will be wrong. Now let us make this clear without falling into lies and Clickbaits from YouTube. Ready? Let’s go and see my 95% accurate answers after this clarification!!
To clarify what happened first; Ash Ketchum Ketchum left the franchise somewhere in March 2023 then introduced 2 new main characters in Gen 9, Scarlet and Violet, named Liko (Female) and Roy (Male). Pokémon then made a new series for them called “Pokémon Horizons”. This disappointed many fans (Maybe including you!) and made people think Pokémon gave their classic series a reboot to refresh the Pokémon universe Non-Canon to the classic (Which is obviously not true cuz I will explain later). This made the fans sad and mad and made the Pokémon series unpopular and its ratings drop. Even People from Reddit (Most) were so sad and felt nostalgia. Other AI (But not my ChatGPT cuz we talked about his return to each other that made sense) thought and doubted he would return. Some people even thought if Ash returns, it will overshadow the 2 new main protagonists. Some were ok he was gone (that’s them, so let them be.) and people thought Liko’s hair clip,
Ash’s classic hat symbol, represented his replacement also including Roy and Captain Pikachu (Based on Ash’s Pikachu) as his replacement (This is also not true. It’s just Pokémon’s way of passing the torch and his legacy which will be explained later as well). Lastly, some people even thought that why Pokémon Ultimate Journeys was rushed was because they wanted to finally ditch him off.
Now to the answers that are very likely true:
Well there is no direct answer that Ash will return (Yet) likely because they are under NDA, which prevents them from leaking anything. BUT they gave vague answers and clues with limits that I suspect they might be up to something on Ash’s return. They look like they are in the same universe, and if we want to see Ash again, it will most likely be in a movie(s) (If they want to continue making movies again in the 30th anniversary.) or a special episode(s). But Ash in Liko and Roy’s series could be rarer (and can be a bad idea which will make sense later). If possible, they can return Ash with both new Canon and (Not or) Non-Canon continuities, and if one of them only are either canon or non-canon, it would leave the other out. It is also possible he will return in the Pokémon 30th anniversary in the year 2026 or 2027 in Pokémon Gen 10 if possible for It may be the perfect timing to show Ash again as Pokémon horizons season 3 will probably end on either of these years there.
Now here is a tiny risk: Many people thought when Ash returns, he will return in a spin-off series or show so he won't overshadow Liko and Roy for the sake of fan service. According to https://screenrant.com/pokemon-ash-return-confirmed-caveat-age-up/ for a “better” solution to return him, they said Ash’s return should be in a movie for a crossover with Liko and Roy BUT instead of the Ash we know and love, they said they recommended to return him with a non-canon Ash just so he can be in the same level as Liko and Roy in order not to overshadow Horizons!
A TERRIBLE idea (in my opinion and maybe you!) that would disrespect his legacy even though it can work.
But let me prove them wrong and I will give a better solution (to not overshadow!):
What about we wait for Pokémon Horizons to finish first (very likely after season 3 ends) to build up life about Liko and Roy, then we will have a crossover so we can have Liko and Roy almost on the same level as Ash to lessen the overshadow risk to support Fan service? And besides, Horizons’ writing was better than the Journeys which increases the chances (Well of course Pokémon is definitely being more careful this time than the hated Pokémon Journeys series). Now they can meet in special ep, movie, or better: A NEW SERIES!
Well then what about “Project Bauer” from the Teraleak that was considered to be the 24th Pokémon movie and also not featuring Ash but Akari from “Legends of Arceus”?
Well the “movie” was likely a prototype, hoax, or misinterpretation for it is said this movie had things that aren't childish enough. There was no official confirmation about this but According to Sarah Natochenny and Rica Matsumoto, they said some of the things from the Teraleak, maybe including the “movie” , were fake. It is also possible that this was a movie that stopped due to the pandemic at around 2020-2022 and decided not to finish already. Otherwise it isn't enough to replace Ash for it is not quite worth it for the 30th anniversary.
Now about Ash’s aging problem: If he will also return, he might be aged due to timeskip from Pokemon Horizons season 3 (Mega Voltage). But he was described as “forever 10” by Kuhinko Yuyama after confirming that we will see him in a matter of time. Though, this doesn't necessarily mean that it will give the fact that both Pokemon Horizons and Ash’s series are listed in an alternate universe and we will see Ash again in a spin-off series (That would leave Horizons left out if that happens and besides, Pokemon kept a lot of space for the encyclopedia of the series which gives the fact Horizons may stay a little while. Can explain Ash in Pokemon Horizons in the future). It is possible the Pokemon directors had changed their minds on his forever 10 rule after 2 years ago from 2023. Maybe what they meant was “forever 10” they meant “look like 10” for a lot of the characters looked younger or older but 10 years old. My theory is that it is possible Pokemon Horizons DID NOT HAVE A TIMESKIP but a New Year. If you are saying I am crazy, here is a possible answer: Because there was a rumor after Ash left, he was 10 years old, 10 months and 10 days old so 2 seasons of Pokemon Horizons could represent 2 months and 10 months + 2 months = 12 months which is 1 YEAR! But not including the 10 days. (Can Ash’s birthday be their New Year?!)
I also noticed things like: When Liko and Roy met the ingredient seller who Ash met (Though there are multiple of them in games), the rainbow ending on Ash’s last episode that could represent a promise (Maybe also to canon Ash later), my theory that when he pointed a stick west where to go from his final episode could point where Paldea could be, Koraidon and Miraidon are not there (Maybe saving them for Ash Ketchum), Liko’s hair clip Roy just carrying his legacy while his gone for a while, and Ash can still meet Liko and Roy even though they might be in a parallel universe because Tapu Koko or other things can literally teleport people in parallel dimensions if they could encounter it, and it's important for them to meet each other. To also include, Ash’s friends are still in the TCG cards of Scarlet and Violet!
Now the best part: Kuhinko Yuyama, The long time Pokemon director, stated that he thinks we will see Ash again, Andy Gose said “he is still in the world” and “anything is possible”, and Taito Okiura hoped to still continue his journeys and his journeys are still ongoing in the Pokémon world, but no direct “YES” answer (Yet). These quotes are suspicious because they are under NDA (These quotes were kinda said near April but doesn't mean April fools cuz they could have confessed after). I also suspected that they kept on saying “In the world”, the same thing they said after they introduced Pokémon Horizons, which gives the fact Liko and Roy are in the same universe as Ash and his return will stay on the series (But aging is complicatedly loose). If Ash was really gone, they could have said he was over like saying “Sayonara” (Good bye forever) (There was no answer about that) and there is no point of just NOT confirming if Ash is already gone even though they are under NDA cuz it would be final and they could have said like this:
“Ash’s journeys are complete. We thank him after 25 years. Now it is time to start a new beginning in the Pokémon world (As in the world is refreshed). It is time to say good bye, but he will live in the hearts of the fans forever.”
But they didn’t.
They most likely have a plan or are still planning on his return. They just gave him a break for writing.
So VERY likely (96.1%), he will return (Likely aged by time skip) somewhere in the future in a matter of time. We will have to wait and enjoy Pokémon Horizons for now (Horizons story is getting better). Most likely his return is a surprise, so get ready and don't give your hopes up! Ash said never give up! As the dreams continue!
Now what are your theories of Ash Ketchum’s return?

I can't, because:
- Firstly, my knowledge about the characters in Pokémon is extremely limited. I don't even know who the Elite 4 is/are.
- Secondly, writing needs literature skills, but I'm not very good at literature.
- Thirdly, I'm not in a country with full support with Pokémon.
