Without an action timer players would be able to stall for 20+ minutes if they are in a losing position to try to force a concede. Also the action timer is like 45-60 seconds, if you're getting a few seconds it means your game is lagging.

Maybe the "half your rank" is only for ultra ball? last season i went from 1460 to 720, this season i went from 1740 to 860, both are half my rank, round down to the next multiple of 20. Or maybe i just stopped at really specific points and it was just a coincidence.

Went from 1740 to 860, which is veeeeery close to half (it is half if you round down to the next multiple of 20). You may be correct, and if you are, half seems a little excessive once you hit master ball.

@Acaniezo that's weird, because you should only get the 2 challenge from the coins mission, it shouldn't be possible to switch from one to the other one.

For what i see in your post i assume you're running the game on integrated graphics but then you mentioned a graphic card later and confused me. does your laptop have a graphic card in addition to integrated graphics? if it does, you may need to change your configuration so the game uses your graphic card instead.
