Did your client lag during that game or at some point in that day? With lag i don't necessarily mean the game was unplayable, maybe just a little delayed or unresponsive. I had a similar situation twice a few days ago while searching my deck, and i have a guess of why it happened.

First time my opponent didn't perform any action after my turn ended, which makes me think it could be a connection issue. Second time i didn't check if my opponent had the same issue. I conceded that game after my turn ended.

Fun fact: in spanish, the name of the game is "JCC pokémon" or "juego de cartas coleccionables pokémon" which translates to "Pokémon Collectible card game". Is the word "trading" absent in other languages too? I believe in japan the game is just called "Pokémon Card Game".
