Melony Card Not Available To Play From My Hand

I've played a few games tonight. I played the Melony card fine in one of the earlier games, but in my last game, I had it in my hand for several turns and it wasn't highlighted as a card that I could play, and when I tried it wouldn't let me.

I know that this is normal if either a) you don't have any water energy in your discards, or b) you've already played a supporter in the current turn; but in this case I had at least two water energies in my discard pile, and even at the beginning of two new turns it still wouldn't let me play the card.
