redeemed promo codes not showing up to open in game
has anyone experienced this? what can I do? could it be a delay?

Assuming the code was introduced successfully, have you checked if the redemption limit of that specific promo product was reached?
Once a product's redemption limit has been reached, any additional codes redeemed from that product will grant a small amount of in-game currency instead of the in-game items associated with that product. Redemption limits for each product type are:
Booster Pack - 400 per expansion
Build & Battle Box - 25 per expansion
Preconstructed Deck - 4 per deck
Other product types - 4 per product if 1 or more cards would be received, or 1 per product if only deck or avatar customization items would be received.
If this is not the reason you are not receving the expected itmes then you should contact the support so they can help you.
