600 Premium Pass vs 1800 Premium Pass

Last ladder I purchased the 600 gem Pass, as it was what I could afford. I intended to upgrade to 1800 once I got the gems, but that's not actually an option.

Common knowledge online states that the 600 is actually better value, but I can't find out why this should be so - it seems counter intuitive.

Why would the 600 one be better value, if triple cost gets you triple rewards?

If there's any value, surely it's better to get that 3x. And if there's better things to spend the gems on, surely then no pass at all would be better value.

The 1800 one doesn't get you any extra rewards. It just unlocks 15 tiers instantly, which you don't need since you're given more than enough time to complete the pass.

The more expensive pass simply skips 15 levels for you, at a third of what it costs to skip levels if you choose not to buy it. It's not good value unless you don't have time to complete the pass through gameplay.
