Glaceon VMAX Bench Damage Bug

In a few of my matches I've run into the issue of the secondary effect of Glaceon VMAX's Max Icicle doing damage to pokemon on the bench. The effect that damage was applied will go off, but the number of damage counters doesnt go up. I'm pretty sure V Guard Energies protect against the damage, but there have been times where they wont have that energy attached and it wont do damage.

Did they have Manaphy on the bench?

Ah, there might have been, but I can't recall if there was one of not.

Update: It seems to be happening after I use Inteleon's ability Quick Shooting and choose the same benched pokemon with Glaceon VMAX's attacks effect. Just had a game when I placed 2 counters on a benched Meloetta, then when I placed the 30 damage on it, it only ended with 30 damage instead of 50. They had nothing to mitigate/reduce the 30 damage.

    Just to be sure.

did you see meloetta taking 20 damage from quick shooting? fusion strike energy can prevent de damage from quick shooting, making it 0 + 30 = 30

Also, oricorio wasn't in play, right? oricorio's damage reduction ability also affects the bench.

I think i've found the issue, Lake Acuity is reducing the damage buy 20 because it counts energies like Aurora Energy that count as every energy. I didn't realize it counted those until I was doing some testing and saw that I did only 10 damage to the benched pokemon with a Spiral Energy attached.

@Richi-kun That is intended behavior. It's not a bug.
