Mimikyu deals damage counters, rather than damage. Damage counters get through things like Cornerstone's ability. Other cards that deal damage counters include Dragapult ex and LOR Sableye. It's kind of a confusing distinction.

The card designers know exactly what they're doing. Charizard has won multiple tournaments, and TPCi recently made a League Battle deck for the archetype. Couldn't agree more. This current system is a lose/lose for everyone involved: competitive players need to get through dozens of games just to get back to baseline every month. Meanwhile, the less experienced players are hit with a deluge of players at a different skill level every few weeks. That's no fun for anyone. And…
