Fairy was removed and put into psychic type for balancing reasons. I don't know exactly what those reasons are, I know that Pokemon Company likes to randomly change Pokemon types in PTCG, ones that I remember are Poison types being put from Psychic to Dark, Fairies being put from their own type to Psychic, and such.

Rotation happened, which means cards with D mark at the left bottom can not be played in Standard anymore. This happens every year and every year the cards with the oldest mark leaves Standard. If you still want to play those cards you can play them in Expanded.

One issue I've heard from Japanese Mew players is the Miraidon matchup with Regieleki VMAX. Other than that the matchup spread is pretty good. If its the building looking-like Pokemon, Duraludon VMax, its damage isnt affected by anything on the opponents active Pokemon. There are a number of effects like this so dont bank on your Zamazenta walling your opponent completely.

The math is around the same value if we consider all the other stuff you get from BP until level 25, if you really want to play Mew and care that your cards should be shiny and rare, buying until level 25 is worth it.
